Don Manzullo: Did You Forget Who You Represent?

I live in Rockford, IL.  It carries the title of ninth most dangerous city in the USA.  We have over 150,000 citizens and is one of the poorest cities in the state.  Our taxes are high, education low and getting worse, the city is crumbling, there are no jobs, corruption runs wild, and the crime rate soars.

Rockford has an unemployment rate that hovers around 14%, a graduation rate of 79.9% (as of 2010), and 75% of our students live in low income homes. Our crime statistics break down like this: (as of 2009)

The Koch Brothers Run GOP

Oil tycoon brothers Charles and David Koch are two gigantic genius hypocrites. Aside from that, they are also unfortunately dangerous. Why? Well because David and Charles Koch are billionaires (each personally worth about $21.5 billion) with selfish ideas. They preach libertinism, small government and conservative ideas. This is fine and dandy, except they accept corporate welfare, bailouts for a failing Alaskan oil refinery, and use government subsidies to maximize their own profits. Examples? They lease federal land for their agribusiness for free. Koch logs public forests for private gain- the tax payers cover operating costs. They have won massive government contracts using their close relationship with the Bush administration.(about $85 million in federal government contracts-mostly from the Department of Defense) This sounds more socialistic than libertarian doesn’t it?

Tea Party/Republican's 2012 Presidential Election Insidious Maneuvers Underway

The Presidential Election Campaign Season is "just around the corner" and Republicans and Tea Party are wasting no time in setting the stage. The fact they don't have their constituents' best interests in mind is quite evident with the bills and shenanigans they pull in Congress. But this is no mistake, they are adept at diversion.

Take the diversions of real issues for instance. We Americans are hungry for jobs and were promised relief of high unemployment by the incoming Republicans and Tea Party in this past election. Even Republican John Boehner asked/asks, "Where are the jobs?" in regards to any policy the current administration passed/passes, as if Obama was ignoring the matter altogether. But now after gaining control of the House and expanding power in the Senate, Republicans and the Tea Party have given a number of social and cultural issues, completely unrelated to job creation, center stage.
