The Founding Fathers, Capitalism & the GOP

I have just read an interesting article on the difference between the founding Fathers and Republicans.  In case you didn’t know,, the source of the article [1], is a left-wing organization and needs to be considered when reading. So of course, the article suggests the GOP is nothing like our Founding Fathers; yet we are yearning to return to those ideas.  Suggesting the support of capitalism by republicans is detrimental to the country and against our Founders’ intent.   In the rest of this article, I will illustrate exactly how much we have similar intents, but how the author completely misleads his readers concerning capitalism and corporatism. (And he throws in some insults for good measure.)

Scheming Rove: Show Him the Money!

Karl Rove is undeserving of a speck of respect. This man has no integrity and is a coy, manipulative, scheming man. George W. Bush has called Karl Rove “The Architect”. While I have to hand it to Rove, he does seem to be capable of running campaigns- no matter how dirty he has to get or how low he must stoop. Prior to Rove’s time at the White House, he was a Republican political consultant and strategist. He worked on many notable campaigns.

South Dakota: Leading the Charge to Ban Abortion


As of right now, abortions are legal in all 50 states due to the 1973 ruling by the Supreme Court on Roe v. Wade. “Jane Roe” was Norma McCorvey, a young, pregnant woman in Texas without the means or funds to access an abortion. Wade was Henry B. Wade, the district attorney of Dallas County, TX. The Supreme Court decided that a woman, with her doctor, could choose abortion in earlier months of pregnancy without restriction and with restrictions in later months, based on the rights to privacy. They concluded that abortion was a right that the government could not take away due to their interpretation of the ninth amendment. The ninth amendment states “The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.”
