The Fox News "Fear and Smear" Mantra

It's long been known to anyone with half a brain that Fox News and their comrades manipulate and distort facts solely for financial and political gain. When there aren’t any facts to twist, Fox News and Co. will just make them up, as needed. I read an interesting article on the Long History of Race-Baiting at Fox News which helped spur my writing today.

Many of us get our news from a variety of outlets: radio, TV, internet, newspapers, and magazines. All of which, at some point, have spelled out in explicit detail the blatant accounts of the lying liars at Fox News. These hosts include, but not limited to: Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, and Glenn Beck. We should add Alex Jones and Rush Limbaugh because they are certainly not exempt here. Also, let’s not forget to include Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes themselves. They are, after all, the masterminds behind the "Fear and Smear" mantra at Fox News.

Conservatives: Do You Really Enjoy Being Hypocrites? Part 1

The question I ponder toward my conservative counter parts: Are you stupid or just a hypocrite? I try to inform, but most of the time I'm met with "You and your 'lame stream' media!" So- I lean towards not that bright when it comes to government & economics, but hey- maybe I'm wrong. "Less Government" is one of the right-wing slogans. Within the slogan "less government" is the whole conservative set of assumptions about the nature of the "free market" and government's role in that market. In fact, the whole "public sector/private sector" distinction is an invention of the conservatives. They say that the "private sector" exists outside and independently of the "public sector". The public sector, according to conservative ideology, can only "interfere" with the "private sector", and that such "interference" is "inefficient".

Rep. Paul Ryan [R-WI] Booed at a Town Hall

Could it be, we, Americans, are beginning to awake from our cozy slumber? It seems the mountain of lies and the barrels of deceit could finally be catching up to the Republican-Tea Party. Finally, for once the public makes it known their Representative is full of it. This time it's Paul Ryan [R] of Wisconsin. His constituents let him know exactly how they feel about his lies and his bogus "Pathway to Prosperity" budget proposal.

CONSTITUENT: The middle class is disappearing right now. During this time of prosperity, the top 1 percent was taking about 10 percent of the total annual income, but yet today we are fighting to not let the tax breaks for the wealthy expire? And we’re fighting to not raise the Social Security cap from $87,000? I think we’re wrong.

RYAN: A couple things. I don’t disagree with the premise of what you’re saying. The question is what’s the best way to do this. Is it to redistribute… (Crosstalk)
