War With Libya?! If so, it'll be for the oil, not the democracy!

The United Nations has approved military action against Libya. (

The UN resolution not only endorses a no-fly zone over Libya, but also authorizes "all neccesary measures" to protect the civilian population. That is diplomatic speech for military strikes against Gaddafi's forces.

The French have suggested the strikes could happen within hours. The vote was ten in favor (including France, Lebanon, Great Britain, and the US) while five countries abstained (including Germany, China. and Russia).

Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Alvarez Recalled

Miami-Dade County residents have voted to remove Mayor Carlos Alvarez and Commissioner Natacha Seijas from office. Results, including early and absentee voting, show 88 percent of voters want to recall Alvarez and just under the same percentage want to remove Seijas.

The push to remove Alvarez from office was led by and political action committee Miami Voice and billionaire car dealer Norman Braman, who said the mayor's fiscal decision endangered the community. The two drives began after Alvarez pushed through a budget that hiked the county’s tax rate and gave raises to county employees. Seijas voted for the budget.

Alvarez and Seijas tried to kill the recall in court.

Scheming Rove: Show Him the Money!

Karl Rove is undeserving of a speck of respect. This man has no integrity and is a coy, manipulative, scheming man. George W. Bush has called Karl Rove “The Architect”. While I have to hand it to Rove, he does seem to be capable of running campaigns- no matter how dirty he has to get or how low he must stoop. Prior to Rove’s time at the White House, he was a Republican political consultant and strategist. He worked on many notable campaigns.
